Bali volcano: Airport closed for third day as changes detected at Mt Agung


The worldwide air terminal on the resort island of Bali will be shut for a third day, Indonesian authorities said on Wednesday, as powder from a thundering fountain of liquid magma represents a threat to planes.

"Bali's Ngurah Rai air terminal will stay shut until in any event Thursday morning," air terminal representative Arie Ahsanurrohim told AFP.

Mount Agung, which lingers more than one of the world's best occasion spots, could create a loud emission at any minute, authorities have cautioned, constraining the fundamental airplane terminal to be closed since Monday.

Gigantic sections of thick dim smoke and fiery debris that have been burping from the fountain of liquid magma since a week ago have now started shooting high into the sky, constraining several flights to be grounded and stranding around 120,000 sightseers.

Several thousand have just fled their homes around the fountain of liquid magma - which last emitted in 1963, executing around 1,600 individuals - yet upwards of 100,000 will probably be compelled to leave, catastrophe organization authorities have said.

The government is likely to relax the eligibility criteria for Air India disinvestment by allowing airlines with negative net worth to bid.
