Maggi fails lab test again, UP imposes Rs 45 lakh fine on Nestle India


The region organization of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has slapped a fine on Nestle India and its wholesalers after its mainstream noodles mark Maggi professedly neglected to finish the lab test, even as the FMCG major kept up that "it's an instance of use of wrong guidelines".

The region organization had forced a fine of Rs 45 lakh on Nestle, Rs 15 lakh on its three merchants and Rs 11 lakh on its two dealers.

As per the locale experts, it had gathered the examples a year ago in November and sent them for lab test, which had discovered fiery debris content over the allowable furthest reaches of human utilization.

Scrutinizing the lab discoveries, Nestle India said it has not gotten the request yet and would document an interest earnestly once it get the request.

"While we have not gotten the requests go by the settling officer, we have been educated that the specimens are of year 2015 and the issue relates to 'slag content' in Noodles," said a Nestle India representative.

He additionally stated: "This seems, by all accounts, to be an instance of use of off base benchmarks, and we will record an interest direly once we get the request."
