Adidas expects boost in jersey sales from 2018 soccer World Cup in Russia

Adidas expects a major increment in offers of soccer pullovers from the 2018 World Cup in Russia helped by its sponsorship of three of the best groups, the German sportswear producer's CEO was cited as saying on Saturday.

"In football, we are the unmistakable market pioneer worldwide and are supporting 11 groups at the World Cup one year from now," Kasper Rorsted told the Rheinische Post daily paper in a meeting.

"By and large, I expect a major increment in Adidas pullover deals in 2018 on account of the World Cup. I trust that our groups go beyond what many would consider possible. All things considered, we are kitting out three of the top choices with Germany, Spain and Argentina."

Adidas is the official backer of the World Cup and has for quite some time been the best provider of soccer shirts, shoes and balls.

In any case, at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, main opponent Nike supported more groups out of the blue, including the hosts, and marked a greater amount of the most attractive players.
