BCCI slaps 5-month ban on Yusuf Pathan for failing dope test
Indian
all-rounder Yusuf Pathan was today given a five-month review suspension for
coming up short an idiot test, an authorize which will end on January 14, after
the BCCI acknowledged that the infringement was accidental.
"Mr
Yusuf Pathan has been suspended for a doping infringement. Mr Pathan had
coincidentally ingested a precluded substance, which can be regularly found in
hack syrups," the BCCI said in an announcement.
The
35-year-old Pathan had given a pee test as a major aspect of the BCCI's against
doping testing program amid a local T20 rivalry on March 16 a year ago.
"His
example was along these lines tried and found to contain Terbutaline.
Terbutaline,
a predetermined substance, is restricted both In and Out of Competition in the
WADA Prohibited List of Substances," the BCCI expressed.
The
all-rounder, who has played 57 ODIs and 22 T20 Internationals for India, was
accused of the "commission of an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) under
the BCCI Anti-Doping Rules (ADR) Article 2.1 and temporarily suspended pending
assurance of the charge".
